Music and movement education enables students to interact with sound. They simultaneously engage the mind, body, and spirit--through creating performing, listening to, and responding to music. Music offers one of the most effective ways of connecting thinking and feelings. It provides a way of learning that effectively integrates the cognitive, psycho motor, and affective domains.

Our Kindgergarten students are exposed to music and movement programming every day for 20 minutes. Research indicates that music and movement exposure increases a child's ability to memorize and supports the development of strong neural pathways in the brain.

The music department is filled with cd’s, visuals, games, and of course instruments. Children learn a variety of songs during the year and perform many of them during our numerous concerts throughout the year. Children learn beat, rhythm, and other terminology in an interactive environment. Our spacious music room allows for lots of movement as we increase body and spatial awareness.
