Animated Literacy supports the students' adventure into the world of the written word! Reading in Kindergarten is based on the development of sight word vocabulary, phonological awareness and memorization. Students rely on picture clues, phonetic clues and sight words to gain confidence in their reading ability. It is important at this age to expose students to various reading strategies. Students are invited to sign out a simple book to take and "read". Books are exchanged regularly and monitored for skill level. Progression is tracked and celebrated allowing each child to be challenged at their own pace.
